The project to install a radiotelephony relay station by ATC France on behalf of Orange, located at Daureille, chemin de l'Ancienne Cure, has once again been denied a building permit. The initial application was filed on February 16.
On April 22, 2026, the Mayor of Tresses, Christian Soubie, had already refused the permit, based on three main reasons: the threat to the preservation of a protected line of trees, non-compliance with the 10-meter setback from the road axis, and the heritage impact on the 13th-century fortified bell tower, a listed historical monument.
Although the interim judge dismissed the argument based on the negative opinion of the Architect of French Buildings regarding the protection of the fortified bell tower, the mayor maintains his opposition on the other two points. The municipality is therefore renewing its refusal.
The municipal majority thus reaffirms its opposition to the installation of this mast in close proximity to the town center, the church, and residences. This announcement had sparked strong mobilization among Tresses residents last winter, with the formation of a collective and a petition gathering nearly 1,200 signatures.
The case remains open, but the town's position is confirmed: no 36-meter mast at this location.
