On Saturday, August 22, a Terra Aventura trail in Châlucet facilitated introductions despite the language barrier. In the afternoon, a guided tour of Limoges, including free time and the Adrien Dubouché Museum, offered a new perspective on the city. The evening concluded with dancing, thanks to the Aixe-sur-Vienne Festival Committee.
Sunday, August 23, was spent at the Saint-Pardoux lake, featuring a paddleboarding session in the morning and swimming in the afternoon, enjoying the summer heat.
On Monday, August 24, a litter collection was organized along the banks of the Vienne river, followed by an introductory diving session offered by the local club, an experience that was unanimously appreciated.
Tuesday, August 25, saw the group enjoy a morning of canoeing on the Vienne river, admiring the Limousin landscapes. The afternoon was more relaxed before an introduction to pétanque in the evening, a fun discovery for the European friends.
Wednesday, August 26, included an excursion to the Dordogne to explore the magnificent Lascaux cave and wander through the medieval streets of Sarlat. Back in Aixe, a discussion session covered the history of the Val de Vienne and the region's twinning associations.
Thursday, August 27, featured an early morning trip to Paris, including climbing the Arc de Triomphe and taking photos in front of the Eiffel Tower, leaving lasting memories for the international visitors.
The stay concluded with heartfelt goodbyes, marking a valuable human experience that allowed the young people to rediscover their own community. The Twinning Committee invites 13-17 year olds to join next year and will be present at the Christmas market on November 28 and 29, Place René Gillet.
