Following an election campaign held within Jacques Prévert school, the elections for the Youth Municipal Council (CMJ) took place on Monday, October 12, 2026. Students voted for various projects focused on themes such as living together, nature, and sports.
A total of 152 students from CE2, CM1, and CM2 exercised their right to vote, equipped with their voter cards and ballots. The polling station was managed by Carole Longequeue, the elected official in charge of the CMJ, for this democratic moment.
Twenty students were elected: 3 from CE2, 10 from CM1, and 7 from CM2. They will be joined by 4 former elected members from the previous CMJ, who will bring their experience to mentor the younger ones.
The investiture ceremony for the new councillors is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 2 PM to 3 PM at the Town Hall. This event will be attended by Madame the Mayor, our deputy Damien Maudet, and Carole Longequeue. The elected members will then receive their municipal councillor sashes.
The young councillors' first actions will be during the commemoration ceremonies for November 11. A specific ceremony for Jacques Prévert school will be held on November 13 at the War Memorial, where the elected members will read a text.
Subsequently, the CMJ members will meet once a month at the Town Hall for their regular sessions.
