The month of October is traditionally dedicated to Pink October, a national campaign aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer, highlighting the importance of screening, and providing support to those affected by the disease and their loved ones. In Feytiat, the municipality is actively engaged throughout the month through various initiatives to relay this essential message of prevention and solidarity.
The Espace Georges-Brassens will be adorned with pink umbrellas throughout October, transforming its surroundings with the iconic colors of Pink October. This symbolic installation aims to attract attention and remind the public of the crucial importance of breast cancer prevention and screening. Concurrently, the Feytiat town hall will be illuminated in pink during public lighting hours.
Through these actions, the Town demonstrates its support for individuals affected by breast cancer and contributes to spreading the message of Pink October: inform yourself, get screened, and do not face the illness alone.
On Friday, October 16, 2026, the Espace Georges-Brassens will host the performance « Ôrage de vivre ». This creation, blending theater and song, offers a different approach to discussing cancer and illness. Born from the experience of actress Péroline Drevon, diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in July 2022, and the desire of artists Théophile Ardy and Romain Lattelin to transform this ordeal into art, the play sincerely and poetically addresses the journey through illness.
At 9 PM, an open discussion will be held around the performance and the importance of open dialogue about cancer. This exchange will notably include Dr Joëlle Mollard, President of the Ligue contre le cancer (League Against Cancer), and Pr Élise Deluche, Head of Medical Oncology at the CHU de Limoges (University Hospital of Limoges) and President of AOMR. An evening dedicated to the illness, but also to life, hope, and solidarity.
From October 1st to 18th, 2026, the association Objectif Rose will also present a photographic exhibition in the lobby of the Espace Georges-Brassens and at the Bibliothèque municipale André-Périgord (André Périgord Municipal Library).
Reservations for the performance can be made with the cultural service of the Town of Feytiat, with on-site collection from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 12 PM and 1:30 PM to 5 PM. Tickets will also be available at the Espace Georges Brassens box office on the evening of the show, starting at 8 PM. The performance is also accessible through various online ticketing networks.
