This Monday at noon, the municipality of Isle mobilized in front of its town hall for a republican rally, called by the Association of Mayors of France, in support of the city of Limoges following the fire at its town hall.

In front of the Isle town hall, elected officials, municipal agents, and residents gathered at noon to reaffirm their commitment to the values of the Republic and renew their support for the City of Limoges, affected by the fire at its town hall, as well as for the shopkeepers impacted by recent events.
This rally demonstrates the collective will to defend Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. These values form the basis of the republican pact and guide daily actions, uniting people against violence and division. The municipality of Isle reaffirms its solidarity with the mayor of Limoges, the elected officials, municipal agents, residents, and affected shopkeepers.
The mayor and the Municipal Council warmly thanked all those who came to participate in this moment of solidarity and republican commitment. The mayor's speech emphasized that the fire at the Limoges town hall is a serious act attacking a symbol of democracy, as a town hall is a common home present throughout citizens' lives.
The mayor recalled that public buildings such as schools, sports facilities, and media libraries are common goods. Their destruction harms all citizens through repair costs and consequences for services. Special thoughts were extended to shopkeepers whose businesses are severely affected.
The speech stressed the defense of liberty, which cannot be exercised through destruction; of equality, guaranteed by public services; and especially of fraternity, which means not looking away from distress, protecting the vulnerable, and supporting public agents, residents, and shopkeepers.
Solidarity between municipalities was highlighted, with renewed support for the mayor of Limoges and its citizens. The presence in front of the Isle town hall was described as a simple and strong message: refusing to let violence damage what brings people together. Faced with destruction, we must build; faced with division, strengthen bonds; faced with hardship, show solidarity.
The conclusion affirmed that while a town hall can be attacked, the values it embodies and the will to live together must not waver. The Republic is what we do together every day, and that is what is being defended today and must continue to be lived tomorrow.
