The municipality of Isle firmly condemns the arson attack that affected the town hall of Limoges, calling the act of violence unacceptable against a symbol of the Republic.

It is with deep emotion and great gravity that the mayor of Isle, Gilles Bégout, learned of the criminal fire that struck the town hall of Limoges. He expressed his strongest condemnation of the acts of violence and the actions of vandals who targeted this place essential to democratic life.
Beyond the material damage, it is a symbol of the Republic, a public service venue, and the common home of citizens that was savagely attacked. These acts are deemed unacceptable, as nothing can justify such violence, which undermines institutions, those who work within them, and the values of the republican pact.
Gilles Bégout offers his full support to the mayor of Limoges, all municipal elected officials, the City's agents, and the residents of Limoges who are deeply affected. He also commended the courage and commitment of the firefighters and law enforcement who intervened under difficult conditions.
The municipality of Isle will stand alongside the elected officials and other municipalities of Limoges Métropole to provide all necessary support to Limoges, emphasizing the responsibility and collective strength of solidarity between local authorities.
Despite the attack on a symbol of the Republic, the Republic remains standing and faithful to its values of liberty, equality, fraternity, democracy, and respect for institutions. Faced with violence, unity, determination, and confidence in republican values are highlighted.
