The Côte Landes Nature Community of Communes is organizing two 'Form’Équilibre' workshop sessions, designed to strengthen balance and teach everyday movements to preserve autonomy and reduce fall risks for seniors.
The program includes strengthening major muscles, learning how to get up after a fall, transitioning between sitting and standing, moving forwards, backwards, or sideways, turning, climbing stairs, and stepping over obstacles. Participants will also work on balance with eyes closed and learn about age-related frailties like decreased visual acuity and fatigue, as well as home environment risks.
These interactive workshops, based on practical advice and conviviality, allow participants to take care of their health while sharing a moment of exchange with others.
Open to residents over 55 years old from the Côte Landes Nature territory, these workshops are entirely free, funded in part by pension funds. Each cycle consists of 12 sessions of 1.5 hours, accommodating approximately 12 participants. Commitment to the full program is required. Registration is mandatory and can be done by contacting ASEPT by phone at 05 58 06 55 98 or by email at contact@asept-sudaquitaine.fr.
