For two weeks, architects, artisans, artists, industrialists, schools, and training organizations will share their experiences and expertise through exhibitions, meetings, guided tours, round tables, screenings, and workshops. The program will unfold in several towns and locations across the territory.
The first weekend will focus on architecture. The launch will take place on Friday, October 2nd, at the Morcenx Media Library, with a meeting at 6 PM on the theme 'Wood, from Forest to Home,' followed by a reception at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, October 3rd, several guided tours will allow visitors to discover local achievements: the Arjuzanx Site House at 10 AM, the Saint-Jours Residence at 3 PM, and the 'Why Wood?' project at 3 PM.
The program will also offer a journey to Japan. On Monday, October 5th, at 6:30 PM, a film debate will be held around the movie Perfect Days, hosted by Benjamin Chaves. Other events will punctuate the week, including 'Wooden Houses?' in Lesperon on Tuesday, October 6th, and a meeting on architecture at the Arengosse Media Library on Wednesday, October 7th.
The highlight of the event, the forum on Friday, October 9th, and Saturday, October 10th, will take place at the Espace Jean-Jaurès in Morcenx-la-Nouvelle. It will bring together professionals and training organizations around stands, exhibitions, and round tables. Topics such as timber-framed houses, wood protection, the use of burnt wood, or the transformation of an industrial wasteland into a performance venue will be discussed on Saturday. Guided tours are also planned.
The event will continue with meetings on the professions of architecture and carpentry, wood-earth-straw construction, artificial intelligence and architecture, and the renaissance of traditional houses. A Japanese Evening, dedicated to the art of building with wood in Japan, will conclude the program on Thursday, October 15th, at the La Lanterne bookstore.
In parallel, several exhibitions will extend the event: 'Renaissance of a Traditional House' in various media libraries, 'The Art of Building with Wood in Japan' at the La Lanterne bookstore, and 'Landais Houses, History and Traditions' at the Pays Morcenais Tourist Office. A photo rally in Morcenx, 'Find the Wood,' also complements the program.
Numerous local players in construction, architecture, crafts, and training are participating in this operation, including Jean-Garnier High School, BTP-CFA, CFAIB, Henri-Scognamiglio College, and several companies and professionals from the wood sector.
