The Automnales cultural season is relaunching with a significant event: the drawn concert "Mēhmān" presented by Cie Ar'Khan. This performance, which explores the theme of hospitality and encounters, will take place on Saturday, October 10th at 9 PM in the salle des Fêtes of Labenne.
The term "Mēhmān", found in many Eastern languages, signifies the host, the one to whom one must open their door. This multicultural performance, spanning from the Balkans to the Silk Roads, offers an unprecedented dialogue between revisited traditional music, live drawing, and a soundtrack of traveler accounts. Its theme revolves around hospitality, and the encounters or confrontations between those who arrive in a foreign land, willingly or not, and those who live there.
Featuring over 15 rare instruments, unique voices, and languages, "Mēhmān" promises a sensitive, intense, and warm journey at a human level. The artistic distribution includes Emmanuelle Troy (coordination, music), Michaël Amouroux (music), Philippe Bichon (live drawing), Pauline Masson (stage direction), and several voice-overs for readings and testimonies.
Ticketing is available via the Festik website, at the venue on the evening of the show, and at the Mairie (Town Hall) reception. The performance is a co-production and residency supported by Cie Ar'Khan, the OARA (Nouvelle Aquitaine Region), the iddac (Gironde cultural agency), the City of BORDEAUX, the Landes Department, ADAMI, and several other cultural institutions.
