The Saint-Hilaire church in Agen will benefit from the funds raised during an exceptional concert to be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 4 PM in the Saint-Caprais Cathedral. This event is part of a restoration project supported by the Fondation du Patrimoine.
The program, titled "MEDIA VITA ENSEMBLE LA SPORTELLE Memory and Passion: Renaissance," will explore themes of death and hope. It will feature works by Kerensa Briggs, inspired by a Gregorian antiphon, as well as pieces of ancient and contemporary polyphony by composers such as Obrecht, Byrd, Victoria, Gesualdo, Górecki, Łukaszewski, McDonald, McKevitt, and Pärt. The concert promises an intense sonic and spiritual journey, weaving a dialogue between past and present.
The Ensemble la Sportelle, known for its exploration of sacred music and its approach to musical experience as a sensitive and open encounter, will perform this repertoire. The ensemble is supported by the Fondation Rocamadour - Musique sacrée.
All proceeds from this evening will be donated to the restoration project of the Saint-Hilaire church in Agen. Purchasing a ticket directly contributes to the preservation and enhancement of this emblematic local heritage site. The ticket price is €20.
