This pilot project, led by Agen Habitat in partnership with the municipality of Lafox and Agence Ferrando Architectes, offers 7 social rental units that are accessible and sustainable. The residence exemplifies a new approach to social housing, combining adapted and functional dwellings, timber-frame construction with biosourced materials, bioclimatic design for comfort and energy efficiency, and a location in the heart of the village, close to shops and services.
The satisfaction of the residents attests to the project's success. For three tenants, this residence has allowed them to remain in Lafox, close to their friends, shops, and routines, thereby contributing to maintaining autonomy, social connection, and quality of life. This achievement demonstrates that it is possible to offer housing adapted to individual needs without sacrificing independence or local roots.
The Résidence du Vieux Chêne aims to design more inclusive, sustainable social housing that is better integrated into community life. The lessons learned from this operation will inform future projects by Agen Habitat and the reflections of local authorities on the housing of tomorrow.
Thanks were extended to the municipality of Lafox, the Agence Ferrando Architectes, the project partners, and all the teams involved. Agen Habitat reaffirms its commitment to building the housing of tomorrow, today.
