The town of Le Passage held its first neighborhood meeting on Wednesday, September 30th, bringing together about fifty residents and representatives from the association "Bellevue et Quartier Est". This initiative is part of a proximity approach aimed at strengthening dialogue with citizens and encouraging their participation in local life.
Following welcoming remarks by Mayor Gilles Frémy and the introduction of attending elected officials, Serge Chaubin, Deputy Mayor in charge of Sports Policy, presented the objectives of these meetings. Christian Delsuquet, Municipal Councilor in charge of Neighborhood Life, then unveiled the new participatory democracy system: Neighborhood Referents. Isabelle Roumazeilles, Lead Referent, Pierrick Gindroz, Deputy Referent (excused), and Sabine Larribeau, elected neighborhood referent, were introduced. This system aims to improve proximity links and facilitate the reporting of residents' daily concerns.
Several themes were discussed. Sidonie Gilard, Deputy Mayor for Human Resources, Commerce, Participatory Democracy, and Communication, detailed the 6th edition of the Participatory Budget. Serge Cuesta, Deputy Mayor for Public Works, Ecological Transition, Urban Planning, and Mobility, addressed questions regarding roads, construction, and public lighting. Sylvie Benatti, Deputy Mayor for Social Action, Solidarity, Health, and Seniors, presented social programs and support services for seniors.
Discussions also covered public lighting (under the responsibility of the Agglomération d'Agen), medical desertification, mosquito control, and the management of power outages and ENEDIS interventions. The town thanked participants for the quality of the exchanges.
This initial meeting allowed residents to voice their concerns and receive answers, identifying issues requiring follow-up. The initiative will continue in other areas of the municipality. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14th at 7 PM, at the Maison du Temps Libre, avenue Paul Bême, for residents of the "Ganet-Béoulaygues" and "Cœur de Ville" neighborhoods.
