In response to incivilities, the municipality of Cambo-les-Bains is intensifying its efforts to maintain the city's cleanliness. A reminder is issued to pet owners: they are responsible for their dog's waste.
Since December 11, 2020, Article R.634-2 of the penal code has modified the penalties. Failure to comply with this rule, as well as depositing waste outside designated areas, throwing cigarette butts or masks, or spitting or urinating in public, is now subject to a 4th-class offense with a fine of €135. This fine can be increased to €375 for late payment.
In Cambo-les-Bains, municipal police officers are authorized to issue fines to offenders.
The town has installed dispensers for dog waste bags to assist owners. A map of their locations is available online. It is essential to carry one or more bags to collect your pet's droppings.
