Launched three years ago by the Haut-Béarn Community of Communes, the collective transport service, mHAub peri-urban, aimed to provide a complementary mobility solution for residents of the municipalities bordering the main town of Oloron Sainte-Marie, such as Lédeuix, Estos, Goès, Précilhon, Bidos, Agnos, Gurmençon, and Moumour.
Despite several adjustments to schedules to better meet user needs, ridership figures show that the service has not reached the expected public. After analyzing its usage and with the contract deadline approaching on December 31, 2026, the community of communes has therefore decided not to renew the service starting January 1, 2027.
This decision, however, does not mark the end of the community of communes' commitment to mobility in the territory. The local authority is currently studying a new system designed for the entire Haut-Béarn region, which aims to offer a more adapted transport service to residents' needs.
Its implementation is planned for autumn 2027. Through this reflection, the Haut-Béarn Community of Communes wishes to continue its efforts towards accessible mobility solutions that are adapted to the realities of the territory and best meet the expectations of its inhabitants.
