The Pays Basque & Seignanx SCoT Union has approved targeted adjustments to its Territorial Coherence Scheme (SCoT) following remarks from the legal review by the Prefect of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, particularly concerning the Coastal Law.

The Territorial Coherence Scheme (SCoT) for Pays Basque & Seignanx, approved on December 11, 2025, was subject to discussions with the Prefect of Pyrénées-Atlantiques as part of the legal review. At his request, the document has evolved on a few specific points related to the application of the Coastal Law.
These developments aim to strengthen the protection of coastal agricultural and natural areas, without generating new environmental impact. They were agreed upon jointly with state services and have been integrated into the SCoT.
During its session on October 8, 2026, the Union Council voted in favor of these adjustments. The amended version of the SCoT is now available on the union's website and on the Géoportail de l'urbanisme.
