The Municipality of Hendaye is considering requesting recognition of a natural disaster status due to drought. An assessment of damage to homes has been initiated.

The Municipality of Hendaye is considering initiating a procedure to recognize the state of natural disaster due to drought. In order to record the damage likely linked to this drought episode and to complete the file that will be transmitted to the State services, residents are invited to come forward.
Those who have observed the appearance or worsening of cracks or other damage to their homes are asked to provide the town hall with the following information: their name, first name and contact details, the address of the property concerned, a brief description of the damage observed, the approximate date or period of their appearance, and if possible, some photographs.
These elements can be sent to or deposited at the DAGR, Mairie d’Hendaye, before October 30, 2026. This census will allow the City to support its request.
However, the recognition of the state of natural disaster is a decision of the State, taken after the examination of the municipal file.
