The Pau Hospital has integrated the Stryker ENT Navigation System, an augmented reality surgical guidance solution, improving care for local patients with ENT, orbital, and skull base pathologies.

The Stryker ENT Navigation System, powered by Scopis software, is an augmented reality surgical guidance solution for endoscopic surgery of the sinuses, skull base, and orbital cone. Equipped with sensors, it maps the patient's anatomy in real-time and displays CT, MRI, or fused scan images on screen, allowing the surgeon to know the precise location of their instruments at all times.
Described as a "surgical GPS," this system offers unparalleled precision in reaching or avoiding specific sinus and extra-sinus areas. This surgical aid enables surgeons to perform procedures more safely, quickly, and with less invasiveness.
This technological advancement allows the Pau Hospital to manage certain orbital and skull base pathologies that previously required referral to university hospitals. Patients from Pau and the surrounding areas can now benefit from this significant technological advancement without needing to travel to distant referral centers.
