As part of its water resource protection policy, Eaux de Vienne offers technical and financial support for hedge planting projects. This initiative, funded equally by the Agence de l’eau and Eaux de Vienne, covers the purchase of plants, protective materials, mulching, and specialized technical advice.
Soil preparation and hedge maintenance work are not covered, although financing for planting itself may be considered depending on the project. The organization also encourages development projects on farms, even in the absence of prior agroecological infrastructure (IAE) inventory studies in the area.
For any questions or to discuss support possibilities, farmers are invited to contact Claire Pélissier, project manager for hydrosystem protection at Eaux de Vienne.
Agroecological infrastructure inventory studies, completed in 2026 for the catchment areas of Fontaine du Son and Choué-Brossac, are currently underway in Sud Vienne, with results expected in 2027. These studies aim to identify existing landscape features and pinpoint areas where new developments would be beneficial for limiting runoff, promoting water infiltration, and reducing pollutant transfer to water sources.
These efforts help to better target farmer support for their development projects, thereby contributing to improved protection of water resources.
