The Loudun proximity perinatal center (CPP), located in the heart of the Loudun area, provides comprehensive gynecological and perinatal support, coordinated by midwife Linda Autson Girard. The facility, which has undergone renovation work, is distinguished by its global and tailored approach.

The center offers pregnancy monitoring, gynecological and obstetrical consultations, perineal rehabilitation, medical termination of pregnancy, and screening for sexually transmitted infections. Given the scarcity of specialists in the area, gynecological follow-up activity is constantly increasing.
The center's action focuses on prevention from the early weeks of pregnancy, with a prenatal assessment covering nutrition, exposure to endocrine disruptors, dental health, vaccination, and addiction management. A support interview then guides future parents towards appropriate professionals (psychologist, dietitian, social worker).
Preparation for childbirth classes are offered individually or in groups. After childbirth, the midwife provides postnatal consultations and offers newborn massage workshops. "Being a true reference point and support for couples, adapting the follow-up to each family's history and valuing their own parenting skills," explains Linda Autson Girard, who ensures comprehensive patient support until the 7th month.
For complex medical situations, the midwife collaborates with Dr. Richard Sarfati, a gynecologist-obstetrician, and an ultrasound midwife, Laurence Mathieu. A shared computer file with the Châtellerault hospital center facilitates consultation and ensures a safe and reassuring pathway. The center also works with the Loudun health access point, managed by Manon Comte, and local social actors.
The center places a central role on the sexual health of individuals under 25, with dedicated consultations for contraception and prevention accessible from age 15. Interventions in schools and regular drop-in sessions for adolescents are also organized.
"The advantage of a proximity center is relying on versatile professionals to meet the population's needs. Having worked here for a long time, I am now seeing the pregnancies of women I myself saw born. In a small establishment, this creates very strong and privileged bonds," concludes Linda Autson Girard.
Significant renovation work has been carried out to improve user comfort, including a complete refurbishment of the waiting room with contemporary furniture, repainting of corridors, and equipping consultation rooms with new furniture. Logistical organization has been optimized through the creation of a shared pharmacy-store for the different consultation sectors.
