The Communal Approved Hunting Association (ACCA) of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne has finalized the dates for the upcoming big game hunting season. Twelve driven hunt days for roe deer and wild boar are scheduled, exclusively on Saturdays, between September 26, 2026, and February 20, 2027.
Three of these hunts will take place in partnership with the ACCA of Meschers-sur-Gironde, specifically within the Suzac forest. These dates are December 12, 2026, January 2, 2027, and February 6, 2027.
The full calendar for 2026 includes Saturdays: September 26 (Marais de Margite / Boube), October 10, November 7, November 28, December 12 (Suzac forest), and December 26. For 2027, the dates are Saturdays: January 2 (Suzac forest), January 9, January 23, January 30, February 6 (Suzac forest), and February 20.
The hunts generally take place between 8 AM and 5 PM. The precise sector for each hunt is communicated to the town hall four days in advance and posted on the commune's webpage, as well as on its Facebook page the day before. Additional administrative hunts, directed by the lieutenant of the hunting authority, may be added and will be announced similarly.
To ensure the safety of walkers, signage will be installed at the access points to the affected areas. Hunters will wear bright orange clothing and receive safety instructions. It is recommended to respect the 'hunting in progress' signs, avoid the signaled sectors, keep dogs on a leash, and wear brightly colored clothing. If in doubt, it is advisable to turn back or choose another route.
