For the second consecutive year, the Department of Charente-Maritime has awarded the town of Saint-Rogatien for the development of the Place des Chênes Verts, recognizing its efforts in biodiversity and water conservation.

The Department of Charente-Maritime has organized for the second time the « My Town, My Landscape » award. This initiative aims to highlight municipal actions in landscape enhancement, thereby contributing to the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The municipality of Saint-Rogatien, competing in the category for towns with 2000 to 2500 inhabitants, received the landscape development prize for the redesign of the Place des Chênes Verts. This trophy was presented on Monday, October 5th.
Specifically, the award commends actions promoting biodiversity through the de-impermeabilization of the square, disconnecting gutters from the medical center to conserve rainwater in newly greened areas, and creating a meeting space with benches.
The trophy was presented to Didier LARELLE, Mayor of Saint-Rogatien, and Maurice GARDIEN, First Deputy Mayor, by Ms. Sylvie MARCILLY, President of the Department of Charente-Maritime.
