From December 4th to 5th, Angoulême transforms into a scene of solidarity for the Téléthon. Associations, schools, businesses, and neighborhood committees are joining forces to offer various activities and sales to benefit research on rare genetic diseases. Everyone is invited to participate in this collective effort.
Several events are scheduled before the main weekend. On November 11th, the Angoulême Festival Committee will organize a dance with merchandise sales. On November 28th, during the SA XV match at Chanzy stadium, a raffle will be held by the association Partage.
On Saturday, December 5th, the city center will be the hub of festivities. New York Square (from 9 am to 12 pm) will feature vintage car rides for €2.50. Saint-Martial Square (from 1 pm to 6 pm) will host a climbing wall with the Departmental Council and the Angoulême Alpine Club (participation: €2.50), as well as dance performances by Moov Dance, Danse Portugal, and Danse Espagne. Crêpe sales (€1) will take place from 1 pm to 3 pm, followed by the Kiwanis Rempart des Valois offering crêpes, tarts, and mulled wine from 3 pm to 6 pm. In the evening, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm, the neighborhood committee of Vieil Angoulême will organize a crêpe sale and a donation box, with mulled wine offered during the illuminations.
The Halles market and various neighborhoods will also participate. Halles merchants will sell food items, and the funfair at Champ-de-Mars will contribute a portion of its revenue. Initiatives are also planned with neighborhood committees, senior clubs, associations, and schools, including Condorcet and Ferdinand-Buisson schools organizing 'muscle runs'. The schedules for some activities are still to be confirmed.
The City of Angoulême has supported the Téléthon for many years, facilitating the coordination of actions. Last year, over €8,000 was collected. Every gesture counts to support research.
