The town of Égletons had the honor of hosting the launch of the 14th edition of the Corrèze Readers' Prize on October 1st. For the first time, the Departmental Library organized launch evenings in four libraries across the department, with Égletons chosen for one of these events.
In the presence of Jean-Marie Taguet, vice-president of the Departmental Council, actors Marie-Pierre Bésanger and Philippe Ponty from the Bottom Théâtre enlivened the evening. They brought the five selected novels to life through excerpt readings, offering a great introduction to the authors' worlds and encouraging readers to dive into the books.
This edition holds particular significance for the local library, as Morgane, the librarian, participated in selecting the five novels for the 2027 edition. This involvement recognizes her commitment and that of the library in promoting reading and contributing to the cultural life of the department.
The Municipality of Égletons thanks the Departmental Library of Corrèze for organizing this prize and for choosing their library for this launch evening. Gratitude is also extended to the Bottom Théâtre for this convivial literary encounter.
A special thanks was given to all the readers and the public present, who shared the moment in large numbers. The five selected novels are now available at the Égletons library. Readers have until January 16, 2027, to discover the books and vote for their favorite.
