The initiative, launched last year to promote accessibility and the joy of reading, is being continued this year. It aims to spread the benefits of reading to all audiences, including those unable to attend in person.
The Brive hospital center is actively involved in this project. Thanks to recordings by the Corrèze Télévision teams at the Fair's venues, six literary encounters will be broadcast throughout the weekend within the establishment, offering patients moments to laugh, dream, learn, and escape.
The program will begin on Friday with the encounters "Battements de cœur" and "Croire en soi," featuring Serge Joncour and Aurélie Valognes, followed by Julien Sandrel, Delphine Giraud, and Margaux Cassan. Saturday morning will be dedicated to Virginie Grimaldi, who will discuss life's wounds and the possibilities of reinvention.
Saturday afternoon will focus on the grand history of comics with a "drawn encounter" retracing the epic of the 9th art, bringing together Daniel Casanave and Benoist Simmat. Dominique Bona, president of this edition, will be honored on Sunday morning with an encounter titled "Du bonheur de vivre, du bonheur de lire" (On the joy of living, on the joy of reading) with Gilles Martin-Chauffier and Jean-Paul Enthoven. The program will conclude beautifully with Le Petit Nicolas, featuring an encounter with Anne Goscinny and Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignod.
A general public encounter is also scheduled for Saturday, November 7th, at 11 am in the hospital's cafeteria (salle de restauration) with Baptiste Beaulieu, a doctor specializing in addiction and an author committed to victims of violence. He will present his book L’homme qui choisit la douceur (The Man Who Chooses Gentleness), which champions empathy and vulnerability against societal brutality. This encounter will explore the close link between medicine, human listening, and the restorative power of literature.
