Founded in 2018, Niort Tech has established itself as an ecosystem bringing together entrepreneurs, students, researchers, companies, and innovation stakeholders. These expansion works, made possible by an investment from Niort Agglo with support from the State, the European Union, and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional council, reflect a strong ambition.
"Niort Agglo has chosen to invest in the future," stated Jérôme Baloge, president of Niort Agglo and mayor of Niort. "This collective project was born from a commitment to further enhance our territory's attractiveness by creating a space dedicated to digital technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Today, that commitment has been met. Niort Tech is changing dimensions in every respect."
The site is thus expanding from 1,600 to 4,200 m² in the heart of the city. Beyond the numbers, the objective is to make this building a place where paths cross, ideas are debated, and projects are realized. "A territory's attractiveness is not decreed, it is built," emphasized Mr. Baloge, "and it is built by making companies want to come and stay, and by giving young people reasons to study and work here."
The ambition is to make Niort Tech a benchmark location far beyond its immediate area. This expansion is just one step, with the dynamic extending beyond the office doors through numerous events throughout the year, such as the INNN trade show. The activities offered are free and open to all.
The expansion project cost €12.7 million excluding VAT, financed by Niort Agglo with support from the State, the European Union, and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional council. The facility now includes 17 business incubator offices, 15 meeting rooms, 150 m² of coworking spaces, and 500 m² of green outdoor spaces. The project management was entrusted to Victor Architectes.
