On Tuesday, October 13, during a round table focused on municipal buildings and climate change, Olivier Dupuy, mayor of Prigonrieux, highlighted the geothermal heating network project developed with the support of SDE 24.
This ambitious project pursues several concrete objectives: reducing gas consumption, controlling the operating costs of municipal buildings, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. It will notably allow for the heating of the town center's school group and the new school restaurant.
Forecast studies indicate that, in the long term, a 71% decrease in energy consumption and an 86% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions are expected within the studied area.
By participating in this departmental event, Olivier Dupuy aimed to promote this local initiative, illustrating the essential role of local authorities in the energy transition. This project recognizes the work undertaken by the Town and its partners, and provides an opportunity to share a practical experience serving environmental challenges and public spending control.
The project is supported by the Fonds Vert and ADEME.
