The market hall, located at Place Weiss in Arès, will host the contemporary dance performance "Crossing" on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 6:45 PM. Created by Hadi Nahleh and performed by Studio 8, this work focuses on the body's quiet strength, its ability to collapse and then rise again.
Inspired by visual culture and Islamic rites, "Crossing" highlights transformation and transcendence. Facing global instability, the performance emphasizes the resilience of bodies and the strength drawn from the collective when individual certainties crumble.
The choreography, blending rhythm, light, sound, and space, uses geometry to reorganize the surrounding world. Dancers repeat gestures and formations, symbolizing the struggle between destruction and reconstruction, chaos and harmony, amidst a changing world.
This performance, off-site and free, is presented with the collaboration of the FAB – Bordeaux Métropole International Arts Festival, as part of the Mediterranean Season initiated by the Institut Français.
