CMA Formation Mont-de-Marsan has inaugurated a new annex to increase its training capacity in automotive bodywork and painting trades, responding to the growing demand from businesses and young people.

Faced with a continuous increase in training enrollment and the growing needs of automotive companies for recruitment and skills, CMA Formation Mont-de-Marsan has decided to expand its capacity. This new facility addresses a concrete reality in the Landes region.
Training in bodywork trades has seen steady growth for several years. In 2023, despite adaptations and new partnerships, enrollment capacity reached its limits, forcing some young people to train outside the department or abandon their apprenticeship plans. CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine has therefore also decided to develop the painting sector, an essential complement to bodywork professions.
Currently, 34 apprentices are pursuing a CAP Carrossier Automobile (Automotive Bodywork Certificate), 16 are studying for a CAP Peintre Automobile (Automotive Painter Certificate), and 7 are enrolled in a CQP Peintre en Carrosserie (Professional Qualification Certificate in Bodywork Painting). These numbers highlight the attractiveness of these trades and the need for training programs tailored to regional demands.
The rapid evolution of the automotive industry, marked by vehicle electrification, embedded systems, new materials, and process digitalization, requires constant adaptation in training. In line with this, CMA Formation Mont-de-Marsan has integrated a virtual paint gun, an innovative educational tool for training in a simulated environment. This equipment will also be used to introduce these professions to young people and their families.
The inauguration brought together representatives from CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, OPCO Mobilités, as well as numerous professionals and partners from the automotive sector. The presence of companies and professional networks underscores the importance of the link between training and on-the-ground needs. This new site represents an investment in the future skills required by businesses.
By strengthening its training offerings, CMA continues its ambition to enable young people to train and build their professional future in the Landes, while supporting companies in their recruitment and skills needs.
