The solidarity restaurant Les Saveurs des Jalles in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles is celebrating its first anniversary with a festive menu offered from Tuesday, September 29th to Thursday, October 1st.

Opened in September 2025 in the heart of the Carré des Jalles, the solidarity restaurant Les Saveurs des Jalles is blowing out its first candle. This living space, run by about twenty volunteers and two employees from the Communal Social Action Centre (CCAS) of the City, has established itself as a place for sharing and conviviality.
To mark this event, a festive menu has been designed, including a festive salad with foie gras, chicken and mushroom vol-au-vents, and carrot cake with lemon-poppy seed cream.
The restaurant pursues a dual objective: to offer quality cuisine at an accessible price to everyone, and to allow individuals facing financial difficulties to also dine out. This project, which combines cooking, conviviality, social support, and diversity, is part of the City's social and solidarity policy.
The principle of the "suspended meal" is also offered. Customers can add a donation to their bill, which then finances free or solidarity-priced meals for those in need, allocated by social workers from the CCAS and its partners. This system creates direct solidarity among diners.
Through Les Saveurs des Jalles, the City promotes a form of solidarity that goes beyond material aid, by enabling everyone to find their place, eat well, meet others, and participate in community life.
