The Prefect of Gironde, Sophie Brocas, has announced the opening of an aid desk for farmers and oyster farmers in the department affected by recent episodes of drought, heatwaves, and fires.

This scheme aims to support agricultural and oyster farming operations throughout Gironde, particularly those located in areas affected by fires or subject to evacuation. Market gardeners, livestock breeders, and non-irrigated fruit and arable farms experiencing yield reductions are also eligible. Winegrowers who have suffered indirect losses, such as market or event cancellations, can also benefit from this aid.
The aid amounts are expected to range between €2,000 and €15,000 per operation, depending on individual circumstances. A bonus is planned for new entrants and organic farms.
Applications must be submitted by October 21st. The first payments are anticipated before the end of the year. To submit your application, visit demarchenumerique.gouv. Business advisors from the Chamber of Agriculture are available to assist professionals with their applications.
