The Convergence Garonne Intercommunal Community is launching a single public inquiry from November 9 to December 11, 2026, covering the Intercommunal Local Urban Plan (PLUi) project and the creation of 8 Defined Areas of Surroundings (PDA).

By order dated October 7, 2026, the President of the Convergence Garonne Intercommunal Community initiated this public inquiry. The PLUi project concerns all 27 municipalities of the community and defines territorial development orientations and rules for land use and construction.
The 8 PDA projects specifically concern the municipalities of Barsac, Landiras, Lestiac-sur-Garonne, Loupiac, Paillet, Podensac, Saint-Michel-de-Rieufret, and Virelade. They aim to delineate areas subject to the protection of the surroundings of historical monuments, considering their architectural, urban, and landscape environment.
The complete public inquiry file will be available online on the community's website (https://www.convergence-garonne.fr/) under the "Urbanisme" section, then "Le Plan Local d’Urbanisme Intercommunal," and finally "Enquête publique unique dématérialisée." A paper version will also be accessible at the inquiry's headquarters and in the town halls of Cadillac s/Garonne and Landiras.
A simplified version will be available in each other member municipality, including a non-technical summary, the written PLUI regulations, the zoning map for the concerned municipality, sector-specific OAPs, documents related to the PDA when applicable, and a notice on how to access the full dossier.
Members of the inquiry commission will be available to receive public observations. These can be recorded in the open inquiry registers at the community's headquarters in Podensac, in each member town hall, or via the online digital register (https://www.registre-numerique.fr/plui-cc-convergence-garonne).
Observations can also be sent by postal mail to Monsieur le Président de la commission d’enquête, CDC Convergence Garonne, 12, rue du Maréchal Leclerc de Hautecloque, 33720 PODENSAC, or by email to plui-cc-convergence-garonne@mail.registre-numerique.fr.
The Convergence Garonne Intercommunal Community is the project owner for the PLUi. For information, contact its urban planning department at 05-56-76-38-00 or urbanisme@convergence-garonne.fr. The Prefect of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region is responsible for the PDA procedure. For project content information, contact Mr. François Breton, architecte des bâtiments de France, at udap.gironde@culture.gouv.fr.
Following the inquiry, the community council may approve the PLUi, possibly with modifications. The PDA projects, after agreement from the competent authority and the architecte des Bâtiments de France, can be created by prefectural order.
