The department of Gironde has reduced its vigilance level for forest fire risks to yellow, the second level on a five-point scale. This change is accompanied by updated protection measures.
Across the entire department, several prohibitions are now in force. Specifically, it is forbidden to use thermal brush-clearing tools like blowtorches, burn green waste in the open air, or use flying lanterns.
Within forest massifs and exposed areas, restrictions are more stringent. The use or transport of fire is prohibited, as is the discarding of cigarette butts or incandescent debris, and smoking.
The Town Hall of Vendays-Montalivet urges everyone to exercise the utmost vigilance and strictly adhere to these measures to prevent any fire outbreaks and protect the forests and the community.
