The artisanal company Kit Eco Cooling, based in Lons, won the 1st prize at the I’NOVPRO Innovation Challenge on October 22, 2026, for its patented misting kit, an innovative solution to reduce the electricity consumption of refrigeration units and prevent breakdowns during heatwaves.

On October 22, 2026, Kit Eco Cooling was awarded the 1st prize in the artisan category at the I’NOVPRO Innovation Challenge. The award ceremony was attended by Christophe Beaule, director of Kit Eco Cooling, Michel Pauliac from the CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Vincent Mathieu from Crédit Agricole.
Addressing the summer challenges where refrigeration units struggle to maintain cold temperatures, leading to breakdowns and lost goods, Kit Eco Cooling's kit offers an effective solution. This patented technology aims to lower condensation temperature without altering the machine, thereby reducing electricity consumption – which accounts for about 13% of industrial electric motor consumption – and lowering energy bills. It also helps stabilize the electrical grid during heatwaves, a period when conventional machines are strained by new regulations on refrigerants.
The system sprays a very fine mist onto the condenser fins, which, through evaporation, carries away heat and relieves the compressor. An electronic card and a self-adaptive program adjust water dosage in real-time to prevent runoff and limescale, thanks to an integrated water softener. The hotter it gets, the greater the benefit, offering enhanced performance when standard systems falter.
Key advantages of the kit include quick installation with its magnetic design, a self-adaptive program that learns the unit's operation, a mobile app with SMS alerts for monitoring, an integrated anti-limescale system, and energy savings from the first summer. The kit is available for purchase or rental, promising a rapid return on investment.
