In a context of dwindling water resources, the DREauP project (Water Consumption Dynamics and References: from User Practices to Service Transformations), led by the CSTB (Scientific and Technical Centre for Building), aims to update and analyze drinking water consumption data. Analyzing the mechanisms, levers, and constraints related to consumption will enrich reflections on the evolution of individual practices and water service reorganizations.
In the Bordeaux Métropole area, about fifteen volunteer households are participating in this national experiment. These households were selected based on representative criteria such as housing type, presence of an outdoor space, or household composition. The collected data will feed into the work of the national team of researchers.
Participation in this initiative contributes to the project's objectives: updating consumption data per household, observing changes after water-saving actions, analyzing mechanisms and levers for influencing consumption, recalibrating peak flow calculation formulas for network sizing, measuring the impact of reduced consumption on services, and establishing future consumption and investment scenarios.
