The flood risk awareness campaign "Dame Garonne – La belle capricieuse," led by the Réolais en Sud-Gironde Community of Communes, has been selected from 187 entries for the 2026 Grand Prize for Public and Territorial Communication.

A national recognition for the Réolais en Sud-Gironde Community of Communes. Out of 187 candidate campaigns for the 2026 Grand Prize for Public and Territorial Communication, only 28 were selected by a jury of communication professionals. The campaign "Dame Garonne – La belle capricieuse" is now among the finalists in the "Project Support Communication" category.
Led by the Community of Communes within its GEMAPI competence, this campaign aims to raise residents' awareness of flood risk, develop a risk culture, and enhance the relationship between the territory and the Garonne river. Through a documentary film, six thematic episodes, and various awareness actions, "Dame Garonne" invites everyone to better understand the river to live with it more harmoniously.
This selection rewards a collective prevention and awareness initiative for the benefit of residents. The final awards ceremony will take place on December 2, 2026, in Biarritz, during the Cap’Com Forum.
The film "Dame Garonne – La belle capricieuse" is available on the Community of Communes' YouTube channel.
