The National Dance Competition, organized each spring by the Confédération Nationale de Danse, brought together the country's best schools at the Arkea Arena in Bordeaux. Access to this prestigious competition is only granted after winning a first prize at the regional contest.
It was here that Kataleya won the unanimous 1st prize in the preparatory contemporary solo category. The jury praised her ease in approaching the stage with a radiant smile. Similarly, the duo "Sens inverse" performed by Axel and Johana captivated the jury with their sincerity and energy, earning them a 1st prize as well.
These two first-place finishes lead to a historic qualification: the three dancers will represent France at the CND European Championships in Madrid on October 30 and November 1, 2026. This marks the first time in nearly fifty years of history that the Vayres dance school will compete beyond national borders.
In anticipation of their departure, rehearsals are intensifying at the studio. The dancers are accompanied by their State-certified teachers, Charline and Emma, as well as the support of local municipalities, mobilized partners, and encouragement from families and fellow students.
Regardless of the outcome in Madrid, these three young dancers have already written a significant chapter in the school's history, as it approaches its 50th anniversary celebration in 2028.
