On Saturday, September 19, the town of Laruscade celebrated Heritage Day, this year focused on the area around the Saint-Exupère church. Due to a tight election schedule in 2026, the program was more limited than in previous years.
The church was open to the public, offering guided tours led by Jean-François Dassonville. He shared the building's secrets with 70 visitors, answering their questions.
At the entrance, Marie-Claude Dassonville presented an exhibition of antique objects, divided between kitchen utensils and tools, evoking memories and offering a glimpse into 'life before'.
In front of the porch, four grids displayed photographs of Laruscade from different eras, from 1900 to 2026. These images, collected from residents, particularly interested the public, especially those detailing the church's evolution and restoration.
Three vintage vehicles were also presented by collectors: the old horse-drawn hearse and a restored 1925 tractor by Mr. Latouche, as well as a 1963 DS 19 under restoration by Mr. Giraud. A Solex and a Mobylette completed the display.
The day concluded in a relaxed atmosphere with a picnic shared by organizers, elected officials, and exhibitors on the church forecourt. The next event is scheduled for 2027.
