A commemorative ceremony will be held in Ludon-Médoc on Wednesday, November 11th, 2026, for the 108th anniversary of the 1918 Armistice, including an exhibition on Maurice Genevoix.

On the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the 1918 Armistice, a commemorative ceremony will take place in the commune of Ludon-Médoc on Wednesday, November 11th, 2026.
The program will begin at 10:45 AM at the Stèle des soldats disparus (Stele of the Missing Soldiers) in the Ludon-Médoc cemetery, with a gathering at 10:30 AM. A second ceremony will be held at 11:30 AM at the Monument aux Morts (War Memorial) on Place Jean Jaurès, with a gathering at 11:15 AM.
This moment of remembrance, organized in partnership with the association of veterans UNC Ludon-Médoc/Macau, will be accompanied musically by the Batterie-Fanfare d’Arsac.
An exhibition titled "Maurice Genevoix et Ceux de 14" (Maurice Genevoix and Those of '14), on loan from the National Office of Veterans and War Victims, will be inaugurated after the ceremony. A reception will be offered at the town hall.
Maurice Genevoix, a major witness of the Great War and a significant writer, deeply marked the memory of the First World War with his writings on the trench experience and the fraternity among soldiers. His major work, Ceux de 14, powerfully recounts his front-line experiences.
The exhibition invites visitors to discover the journey of a writer who helped transmit the memory of the First World War combatants and keep their testimony alive for future generations. It will be visible from November 9th to 16th, 2026, in the town hall's ceremony room during opening hours.
