The Mental Health Week, taking place from October 5 to 18, 2026, will highlight the crucial role of the arts in individual and collective well-being. Under the high patronage of the Ministry of Culture, this edition is part of the "Grande Cause Nationale" (National Major Cause).
Drawing on a 2019 report by the World Health Organization (WHO), the event emphasizes that artistic activities, whether practiced as a creator or spectator, offer significant benefits. These activities promote emotional regulation, stress reduction, strengthen social bonds, and contribute to the prevention of depression and isolation.
The arts also play a vital role in the recovery of individuals with mental health conditions and in reducing health inequalities, by facilitating the participation of populations often excluded from traditional services.
The program includes a wide range of artistic expressions: performing arts (music, dance, theater, cinema), design, crafts, visual arts (painting, sculpture), literature, culture (museums, concerts, festivals), and digital arts.
In line with WHO recommendations, the Weeks of Information and Awareness on Mental Health (SISM) aim to integrate the arts into public health strategies as a complementary lever for prevention and promotion of well-being.
