The University of Limoges is actively participating in Cybermois 2026, a European initiative supported in France by Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, emphasizing digital sovereignty.

Every October, the European Union organizes the European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM), coordinated by ENISA and the European Commission. In France, this initiative is promoted as Cybermois by Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, a national platform for victim assistance and prevention.
For the 2026 edition, the University of Limoges is centering its Cybermois around digital sovereignty, highlighting the importance of mastering data, tools, and infrastructure. With digital uses increasingly prevalent, control over them is a major challenge for the institution and its community.
The program aims for three key objectives: disseminating a common cybersecurity culture within the university community and beyond, raising awareness about good practices like strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and fostering debate on critical topics such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and personal data protection.
The event includes two awareness sessions for internal staff and digital sector professionals. Gilles Etienne, head of the Anti-Cybercrime Office of Haute-Vienne, will speak on digital hygiene. Another session, in partnership with ALIPTIC, will feature Loïc Lopez (Security Defense and Economic Intelligence Advisor) and Renaud Dardilhac (Chief Information Security Officer) at the University.
Three conferences open to the public are also scheduled. On Monday, October 5th, a videoconference titled 'Hercules and the Hackers' will explore cyber biases through myths and films. On Wednesday, October 14th, a conference on the security and uses of private sovereign cloud will be led by Damien Teyssier. Finally, on Friday, November 6th, a conference on digital sovereignty issues will be presented by students Matéo Deterne and Gabriel Turleque, along with lawyer Pierre Fargeaud and Damien Teyssier.
