The first cohort of the CAP Glacier Fabricant has officially started its academic year at CMA Formation Mont-de-Marsan. Inaugurated on Friday, September 25th, this new training program addresses a clearly identified need within the sector's businesses, particularly along the coast.
The growth of tourism and artisanal activities on the Landes coast is increasing the demand for skilled professionals in the ice cream industry. In response, companies have expressed a need for individuals trained in the specific techniques and know-how of ice cream making. CMA Nouvelle-Aquitaine – Landes provides a concrete solution with this dedicated program, offering significant career prospects.
This inaugural class marks a new step in supporting businesses and expanding the training offerings at CMA Formation Mont-de-Marsan. The ice cream sector is experiencing significant momentum, and training young people is crucial for companies to recruit and pass on their expertise.
The CAP Glacier Fabricant program equips students with the necessary technical skills and familiarizes them with industry demands. Through apprenticeships, they gain practical company experience, gradually building their professional path and contributing to the sector's skill renewal.
The inauguration brought together the first cohort of students, apprenticeship masters, and industry representatives. Jean-François Devineau, the patron of this first promotion and a Master Artisan with over 40 years of experience in pastry and ice cream, is mentoring the students, embodying values of excellence, transmission, and passion for the craft.
This initiative aligns with the CMA's commitment to evolving its training programs to closely match regional needs, preparing young people for future professions and supporting the development of artisanal businesses in the Landes region.
