The musical documentary 'What If We Dared', directed by Matthieu Larradet of the association Plein Gaz, was presented on Thursday, October 15th, at Laaps’Art to a large audience. The film recounts a collective adventure born from the desire to bring music into the heart of the Pau psychiatric hospital.
For two years, Matiu, as he is known in Béarnais, accompanied patients, healthcare professionals, and staff in an experience combining singing, dancing, and music. Through encounters and rehearsals, 160 participants formed a collective, overcoming their apprehensions thanks to Matiu's communicative energy. The song 'Bella Ciao' serves as the common thread for this unique journey, culminating in a final clip.
Following the screening, which was warmly applauded, Matiu and his father answered numerous public questions and shared anecdotes about creating connections between people from different backgrounds. The evening concluded with the announcement of new perspectives, including 'What If We Dared 2'.
The audience discovered the unifying power of music.
