The Interdepartmental Directorate of Atlantic Roads (DIRA), in partnership with the municipality of Gurmençon, will commence road maintenance works on Monday, October 5, 2026. The operation will focus on the complete restructuring of the Gurmençon crossing on the RN134.
These works, with an estimated duration of about one month, aim to sustainably improve road quality, enhance user safety, and calm traffic within the commune. They include full road restructuring, the creation of 4 speed-reducing speed tables, the implementation of a permanent 30 km/h speed limit in the crossing, and various adaptations of road equipment and networks.
Funding is provided by the DIR Atlantique for the road restructuring and by the municipality for urban development works. To ensure safety, traffic will be regulated by municipal order with alternating traffic at the worksite, adapted diversions, and maintained access to residences. Public services, particularly school transport, will be temporarily adjusted during the first two weeks.
The DIRA and the company EUROVIA will implement measures to limit disruptions, such as reducing dust emissions and maintaining resident access. Slowdowns and occasional disruptions may occur. The works will continue until October 30, 2026, weather permitting.
