On Saturday, September 19th, the elected members of the Youth Municipal Council (CMJ) welcomed numerous families to the event "First Aid: a morning to learn life-saving gestures". This initiative marks the CMJ's first action since its election in January 2026 and aligns with the municipality's desire for citizen participation.
The event featured various stands led by local partners and the CMJ. Participants learned life-saving techniques from firefighters and a coastal rescuer, discovered animal-assisted mediation with a musher and his sled dog, and practiced physical and mental health first aid through games designed by the young council members.
This project, developed with the support of Mr. the Mayor, the Education commission members, and the after-school services led by Audrey Siméon-Castanier and Yvan Castagné, aimed to strengthen intergenerational bonds. The municipality congratulated the young elected officials for their commitment to promoting prevention, awareness, and health.
This first initiative also enhanced cohesion among the young elected officials from the four schools in Saint-Pierre d’Irube. Their shared value was to convey the importance of caring for others.
The CMJ's next event is the "Family Challenge", scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, at the Lizaga media library.
