Organized by Jessica, a logistician at the Minkowski pavilion, and Kheira, a nurse in Mirandes, this day allows twelve patients from the Scévolles, Mirandes, and Massigny units, accompanied by six caregivers, to escape the hospital environment. In partnership with the association VENTS & MARÉES – Club de char à voile de La Faute-sur-Mer, the activity offers new sensations and a special moment in a natural setting.
Beyond discovering sand yachting, this outing represents a true therapeutic break. It encourages participants to step out of their usual routines, try new activities, and share an enriching experience together, fostering relaxation and well-being.
The activity aims to build self-confidence, autonomy, and mutual support between patients and caregivers. Through a shared experience, everyone can find their place and express their emotions, valuing each person's abilities in a context different from the hospital. A convivial picnic extends these informal exchange moments.
For Jessica and Kheira, this initiative embodies the belief that care also involves life experiences, discovery, and shared pleasure. Seeing patients gain confidence and fully enjoy this experience gives meaning to the project, which helps provide care differently.
The success of this day relies on the involvement of many partners, notably the association VENTS & MARÉES and the association La Cordée. After four years of organization, this human adventure continues to offer patients opportunities to flourish outside their hospital routine.
