Facing persistent drought, 20 communes in the southeast of Vienne are now classified at crisis level (level 4/4) since October 1st, imposing stricter water restrictions.

The prefecture of Vienne, in collaboration with Eaux de Vienne and Grand Poitiers, has issued a new order temporarily regulating water usage from the drinking water network. This measure comes as the department faces a concerning drought situation.
Twenty communes located in the southeast of Vienne have thus moved to the highest drought crisis level (level 4 out of 4). The municipalities affected by these additional restrictions are: Adriers, Asnières-sur-Blour, Availles-Limouzine, Gouex, L’Isle-Jourdain, Lathus-Saint-Rémy, Le Vigeant, Luchapt, Lussac-les-Châteaux, Mazerolles, Millac, Moulismes, Moussac, Mouterre-sur-Blourde, Nérignac, Persac, Plaisance, Queaux, Saulgé, and Sillars.
For the rest of the department, the reinforced drought alert level (level 3/4) is maintained, a situation that has been in place since July 13th.
