Since September 1, 2026, public colleges in Deux-Sèvres have been implementing the "100% French" program, aiming for meals composed of French produce, with at least 50% local products and 10% organic products.

This ambitious initiative, which incurs no additional cost for families, aims to enhance the nutritional quality of meals served to the department's 11,789 students while supporting local agricultural sectors. The goal is to achieve 100% French products for cultivable or producible goods in France.
The program was co-developed with the establishment's chefs. Since February 2026, a Catering Mission has been supporting the teams through meetings and exchanges, in collaboration with AGAPE79 and suppliers, to establish a sustainable French supply chain.
To encourage this transition, the Department provides a quarterly bonus to public colleges. This bonus can reach €0.35 per meal, distributed as follows: + €0.20 for 100% French sourcing, + €0.10 for at least 50% local purchases, and + €0.05 for at least 10% of products from French organic farming.
As of the 2026 back-to-school period, 22 educational institutions have already committed to this initiative. The majority of other colleges are expected to join in the coming months.
