During its plenary session on November 3rd and 4th, the Departmental Council approved a budget modification amounting to €6 million. This funding aims to consolidate the Department's role as a territorial developer and a key player in local public services.
This supplementary budget includes the adoption of a Departmental Climate Change Adaptation Plan. This ambitious plan will implement measures to adapt departmental buildings, including colleges, to global warming by addressing outdoor spaces, room cooling, and adapted canteen menus.
A review of the contracting policy was also presented. Since 2022, this new approach has supported each municipality in achieving its projects. For every euro of subsidy disbursed by the Department, €6.8 euros in investment has been generated within the territory. The 18-month deadline for subsidy disbursement was confirmed.
Elected officials also adopted a charter making Dordogne the 5th department in France to be an ambassador for organ donation. The Department commits to informing and raising awareness among the people of Périgord about the necessity of organ donation.
Finally, six motions were debated and voted upon. One motion calls for the construction of the Bourdeilles bypass, while another concerns the safeguarding of departmental finances, solidarity, and local public investment.
