The 2026 edition of the European Sustainable Development Week focuses on sustainable food. Since 2014, the State, through the Regional Directorate for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (DRAAF) Nouvelle-Aquitaine, has been supporting Territorial Food Projects (PAT). These are considered true levers for bringing agriculture, food, and territories closer together.
These collective initiatives particularly support local producers, short supply chains, and proximity-based food in canteens. Currently, PAT cover 80% of the regional territory and reach nearly 90% of the population.
With 45 ongoing projects, including 35 certified by the Ministry of Agriculture, the momentum is clearly underway. These concrete initiatives demonstrate the diversity of challenges and stakeholders involved in promoting more local and sustainable food in New Aquitaine.
