As the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25 approaches, the City of Isle is organizing a citizen march to raise awareness, inform, and mobilize. This afternoon will be a time for meeting, exchange, and collective commitment.
The program begins at 2 PM at Place Laucournet with the 25 minutes for victims, a moment of tribute and remembrance including the distribution of purple ribbons, the reading of anonymous victim testimonies, and a minute of silence.
At 2:25 PM, the 4.5 km citizen march will depart. The route will include stops at the Salle d’activités des Bayles with interventions on combating violence against women by representatives of the State and the Departmental Council, and at the Club de la J.A. Isle Rugby for a meeting with the women's team.
The return to Place Laucournet will feature a self-defense demonstration, a sensitization quiz, and a convivial gathering. Interventions at each stop will last a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes.
The march and its stages will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, before the event concludes at 4:30 PM. Numerous local associations are participating in this collective mobilization alongside representatives from the State, the Departmental Council, WIFE, and CDIFF.
The City invites residents, associations, families, young and old, to join this event for a future without violence. For assistance, the national listening and guidance number is 3919. In case of emergency, dial 17.
